Jeni Green, who handles our Commercial Lines at our Coopersburg Office volunteered this weekend past weekend, the 14th of September for the 15th annual walk/run to benefit the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley.
“The Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley is a local 501c(3) non-profit foundation dedicated to helping children and families affected by pediatric cancer by providing free and unique programming and support during treatment, survivorship, and bereavement. They are focused on creating a loving and supportive cancer community for families whose lives have been forever changed by hearing the words, “Your child has cancer.” They host events and activities to create free-of-charge opportunities for families to have fun and to find nurturing support within the pediatric cancer community.” PCFLV’s 15th Annual Ready, Set, Gold 5K Walk/8K Run/Kids’ Fun Run, Presented by Rob and Kristen Bennett (Virtual Option Available) (runsignup.com)
Jeni said that, “PCFLV is so important to me, I try to volunteer for everything I can with them. I was introduced to PCFLV in 2011 when I was introduced to a cancer fighter and her family. I was able to see first hand the way that PCFLV supports local pediatric cancer fighters and their families. The Ready, Set, GOLD 8k Run/5k Walk is one of the key fundraisers for the year and it really brings the community together. September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness month, so it is also the perfect opportunity to spotlight the need for more awareness of the cause.”
Jeni said he favorite part of the day was, “the kids fun run. I volunteered for check in for the fun run this year, and it’s a blast watching the youngest participants running their course around the kilns and enjoying themselves.”
