We work on your side when you have a loss and follow through to see that you get fair, prompt payment and service.

In addition to ERIE, we also offer coverage from Progressive, Hartford, Chubb, AIG, Lehigh Mutual, Brethren Mutual and other companies.

Our History
In 1977, Russ Smale purchased the T.W. Cooper Insurance Group Agency in Coopersburg, Pennsylvania. Two years later, he acquired the Lee Stover Insurance Agency in nearby Sellersville, and his son Andrew joined the business. In 1985, his other son, Mike, came on board.
After Russ retired in 1992, Mike recruited Thomas Wilkinson and Leo Carlin to help grow T.W. Cooper’s commercial insurance business. By 2001, the agencies grew their business from $2 million to more than $15 million in annual premiums. A year later, Mike, Tom and Leo formed Commonwealth Insurance Group, LTD. The new entity purchased the Durn and Bieler Agency in East Greenville, Pennsylvania.
In 2006, the principals formed T.W. Cooper Insurance LLC, a partnership comprised of Mike, Tom and Leo, which added a new branch in Plumsteadville, Pennsylvania. T.W. Cooper Insurance, LLC then purchased the Roscoe P. Snyder Agency in Walnutport, Pennsylvania, in 2009 and the Scott Fisher Insurance Agency in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, in 2011.
Since 1977, the business has grown from only three employees to more than 30, and today manages more than $35 million in premiums and represents more than a dozen insurance companies.
